Fusion Markets Review Review
Fusion Markets was founded in 2010. It is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC). They offer a wide range of financial instruments, as well as support and a top-notch platform, they cater to traders of all experience levels and budgets and no minimum deposit. And to top it all off, they also offer a demo account.
What can be traded with Fusion Markets and their instruments
You can choose from two account types. A Classic account – fees are in the spreads, and no commission is charged and an ECN account – there are tighter spreads, but a commission is charged. They offer a number of investment instruments to choose from:
- Forex
- Energy
- Precious metals
- Equity indices
- Commodities
- Cryptocurrencies
Broker regulation
Fusion Markets is a trading name for Gleneagle Asset Management. This company is licensed and regulated by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) and an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL). Client funds are held in separated accounts with Westpac. Fusion also offers a high degree of transparency, with everything from their ACN and ABN numbers through to their registration date, registered address, and regulator listed online.
The demo account
They offer a demo account to allow you to trial their products and platform. There is limited information about this on the website, so it’s difficult for traders to know what they’re getting without first signing up. From several reviews, I found out, that the demo account is temporary and that you have virtual funds to start with.
Fusion Markets fees
As I have already mentioned there is no minimum deposit needed. They don’t charge inactivity fees; withdrawal fees and their trading fees class is classified as low.
Opening an account
I found the online application in less than a minute. They had the option on their main page. Registering was fully digital and fast. I only had to fill in my email, think of a password, or there was the possibility to sign up with google. I was offered to take a short introductory tour around the hub to find things easily.
The tour took only a couple of minutes and I learnt what the left pane consists of. From opening the account to finishing the tour it took me about 5 minutes. Simple, fast and functional. After the tour, you open your account. Choose from live or demo. This is where I found out, that I have virtual 10000 EUR to start trading with.
I received a welcome email with all the information I needed. My login details, links to install the platform, my account settings and what should be my next step. Helpful links and support contacts as well. This was one of the best welcome emails I received. All in one.
Fusion markets platform
Fusion Markets does not have its self-developed trading platform, it uses MetaTrader 4. MetaTrader 4 has great customizability, although to me it feels as if it was outdated a bit. I found how to use basic order types, but didn`t find more sophisticated ones, you can’t set alerts and notifications, but has exceptionally strong charting, efficient tools and multiple timeframes.
With Fusion Markets you can use:
- MetaTrader 4
- WebTrader for MT4
- MT4 mobile apps
In the account you can find news, buzz feeds, analyst views, trading calculators and much more. All in the left pane.
I went back to my email, where I had my account settings, MT4 links and password. Unfortunately, I didn`t have the option to use some WebTrader. I use a MacBook and it’s difficult to download applications on it. That`s why I prefer a demo account on a WebTrader.
Fusion Markets website
Its website, for one, is short on certain important details, like information about the demo account, more information on their offered accounts etc. They transparently list the trading conditions for all of its assets on its website, including minimum and average spreads. You can find all of the information you need simply. The main navigation pane has drop-down menus and is organised intuitively. There is additional navigation at the bottom of the page too. The buttons for live chat and client login are right where you expect to find them. The website design is clean, professional and functional.
You can also find an economic calendar, their product well explained, trading calculators and trading tools explained.
I didn’t find any news, analysis or educational support on their websites. They offer a demo account free of charge with virtual money and its tour guide as the only support for beginners.
Social networks
You can find Fusion markets on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The analysis I was missing on their website is posted on Facebook.
They post the analysis several times a day, news maybe once a month. I found no activity on their Twitter account and not much activity on LinkedIn either.
Advantages and disadvantages
Fusion Markets is a great broker with very low fees. Account opening is fast and easy, intuitive and functional. They are regulated and their website alongside Facebook gives you pretty much all the information you need. Although on the other hand, I was missing educational support and the product offering covers only forex and some CFDs. And I couldn`t download MT4 on my Mac, because there was no WebTrader, I couldn`t try out Fusion Markets.
